About the Organisation
JRI-Europe (JRIE) is a leading provider of IT services to SMBC Group in EMEA region, supporting Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Bank International (SMBC BI), one of Japanese largest banks and a global financial powerhouse. We specialise in leveraging Microsoft technologies to unlock the full potential of data, empowering businesses with the insights they need to thrive.
Our History
The former company, JAIS Europe, was established from the parent company The Japan Research Institute, Limited as one of its subsidiaries in 1989. JAIS Europe changed its name to "JRI Europe, Ltd." in 1998. In 2014, aligning with the policy of SMBC group, JRIE sold the IT services provided to companies other than SMBC group companies to dedicate itself entirely to SMBC group companies.

JRIE is a leading IT services company in financial and banking area. As one of SMBC group companies, we provide the stable and secure IT services to our group companies in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Our responsibilities are mainly the development and maintenance of regional systems of SMBC in EMEA (various systems related to information, business support, and agency reporting).

Service Desk
Our Desktop IT Support Team, perform an essential role in looking after over 2000 users based in the EMEA region. And along with our Trade Floor Support and Market Data Systems Teams, provide Technical and Analytical Support for a range of Market Data Services which SMBC consume in our daily trading.

Money Market System Support
Our Team is in charge of Trading system that handles derivative, FX, Money Market products, closely work with Treasury department in SMBC BI as well as JRI Tokyo HQ where development and projects get initiated. Our work require strong domain expertise in Trading system incl Payments/Risk Management/Trade processing as well as industry specific knowledge and understanding of banking regulation.

Payment System Support
The team supports SMBC EMEA core payments applications which process payment instructions from back office, treasury & customers using SWIFT and connects with other Market Infrastructure channels in UK and Europe. Our involvement is all the way from requirements gathering, project support, test preparation/monitoring and production implementation planning. Payments supported on these applications are global in nature and are essential for the day-to-day bank operation.

Admin
We, the Admin Group works in partnership with the Business; embedding best business practice. The team are responsible for covering a wide range of business functions in addition to ensuring that all Compliance, Regulations, Internal Controls and Legislations are embedded effectively within the business and is managed effectively.
The function of Admin Groups covers:
Corporate Planning; Accounting & Auditing; Talent Acquisition; Employee Relations; HR Operations; Benefits Management; Company Secretarial; Governance; Compliance; Administration and Projects. The functions are delivered by individuals with a wide spectrum of skills and experience in the identified areas and the business environment creates opportunities for personal development in and chosen function; making it interesting, challenging and fun.
