Joint development of a function to enhance the efficiency of investigations of the impact of changing system specifications
— Identifies parts of design document that will be affected when specifications are changed from upstream process design documents —

The Japan Research Institute, Limited and NTT DATA Corporation have jointly developed a “traceability function” that enhances the efficiency of investigations of the impact of changing specifications during system development by making it possible to use keywords to search for design documents that will be affected when specifications are changed among upstream process design documents (workflow, etc). The two companies jointly applied for a patent on September 13. NTT DATA has added this traceability function to its development tool TERASOLUNA® DS, as an add-on function, and began marketing it on September 13. NTT DATA also aims to use TERASOLUNA® DS with the new traceability function in more than 30 different in-house and external projects during fiscal 2013.
