JRI Establishes a Consulting Company in Shanghai

Janualy 07, 2005

The Japan Research Institute, Ltd. (head office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; president: Shunichi Okuyama, hereinafter "JRI") has established a wholly owned consulting company in Shangai.

The core business of the local subsidiary named Nisso (Shanghai) Consulting Company Limited (President: Mitsuru Gomikawa, headquarters : Pudong New Area, Shanghai, RPC, hereinafter "Nisso (Shanghai)") is to provide support for expansion into China and management consulting services to Japanese-affiliated companies, and supply customers with information on China adequate to their needs.

In China, where the business climate differs from that of Japan and the external environment surrounding companies changes very quickly with the deregulation and liberalization subsequent to the country's entry into the WTO, the needs for solutions from consulting companies having an extensive knowledge of Chinese business are increasingly growing, which is the reason for the establishment of the new company.

In addition, with the appointment as Resident Representative at Nisso (Shanghai) of Wo Junhua, a Senior Researcher of the Research Department who has been dispatching information on China from Hong Kong in the Think Tank Department, a system capable of timely delivering local information with higher added value to customers has been designed.
