JRI and Samsung Economic Research Institute Hold Joint Symposium

The Japan Research Institute, Limited (President: Yasuyuki Kimoto; Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; "JRI") and the Samsung Economic Research Institute, a Korean think-tank affiliated to the Samsung Group (President & CEO: Ku-Hyun Jung; Headquarters: Seoul, Korea; "SERI") will hold a joint symposium on the theme of "Sustainable Countermeasures to Population Aging: Focusing on the Cases of Korea and Japan" in the International Conference Room at the offices of the Korean Federation of Banks in Seoul, Korea, on November 14 2007.

JRI will be represented at the symposium by Senior Economist Hisashi Yamada and Senior Economist Kazuhiko Nishizawa of the Economics Department, who will give presentations entitled "Corporate Management Strategies and Employment Systems" and "A Historical Examination of Population Aging Policy in Japan".

The purpose of the symposium is to publish the results of joint research conducted by JRI and SERI in fiscal 2006. Reports on this research are posted on the following Web page.
